Give Pickled Beet Salad A Try
As a kid, I hated beets. Or I thought I hated beets. After agreeing to give this recipe a try, I discovered that I actually do like beets. So it may be that my taste changed or it may have been that I did not like mushy beets from a can. Either way, I really love beets now and I encourage you to give beet salad a chance. You might just find that beets really are pretty great.
Beet Salad Is Good For You
So if you are unsure of beets, the dilemma is how to eat them. There are basically 3 ways to eat your beets: 1) Raw like in a juice or a salad 2) Steamed 3) Roasted. I personally think that all 3 ways are great but eat them anyway you can because beets are amazing for you!
They are low in calories and fat while being rich in a variety of essential vitamins and minerals. Beets are high in phytonutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, and trace minerals making them a great anticancer food while also being anti-inflammatory and good for the heart and eye health. Glutathion found in beets also helps purify the blood of heavy metals and other toxins and their fiber helps carry away the toxins.
So give this recipe a try. If you already love beets, you’ll be glad to have a new recipe and if you are unsure of beets, you might find that you really do like beets.
